Documentary to Watch

John McCormack, St. Marks, recommends the documentary “United States of Tents“, “which explores the reality of homelessness in the U.S. as of 2018,  using real world visits to homeless camps, tiny homes and other shelter options, in Hawaii, Kansas City, Atlanta, New Jersey and other areas. Sacramento even gets a short video clip.”

It’s available on Amazon—free if you have Prime membership,  or rent it for $2.99.

Per John McCormack – In the Wednesday Sacramento Bee print edition, there is a new ad for Big 5 with a coupon for $80 mummy sleeping bags on sale for $29. Brand Suisse Sport, Alpine, + 5 degrees. Size 84″ x 33 ” x 24 “.  Also, $40 Taos rectangular sleeping bags for $14 and $60, 25 deg. F rectangular sleeping bags for $39. 

I don’t know how many items can be purchased at that price. In the past, some items I purchased had no limit. 

Also on sale: fold-up Coleman cots, 10 ft. x 10 ft. tent canopies, privacy shelter tents, air beds with pump, 4-person and 6-person tents, self-inflating camping pads, and winter gloves.

In remembrance of the 6 unhoused neighbors who died during the night of January 27, 2021
and the over 1,500 people experiencing homelessness who have died in our community since 2002.
