We need your help! Can you come to the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors Meeting:
700 H Street
(County Administration building)
Tuesday, 3/28 at 9:30 a.m.
Bring a friend or loved one.
As much as we would like for you to attend, if you cannot make the meeting you may still call your elected Supervisor for your district to express your opinion on this issue. You may find the contact information for your specific district here: https://bos.saccounty.gov/Pages/default.aspx
Due to an undelivered $1 million in ARPA funds promised by the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors, the financial future of Sacramento Self-Help Housing (SSHH) is in crisis and uncertain. Unless the County Board of Supervisors moves quickly to make good on its promise and provides immediate unrestricted funds to its current contract host (SSHH), the resulting impact could mean an abrupt collapse and closure for SSHH, subsequent loss of housing for a total of 667 individuals in Sacramento and San Joaquin counties currently housed in SSHH programs, and the elimination of 180 jobs.
We need the Board of Supervisors to do whatever it takes to keep those 667 people housed.
If you cannot show up in person, you may also telephone in to give comments. On the day of the meeting dial (916) 875-2500 to make a verbal public comment (follow the prompts for instructions). Refer to the agenda and listen to the live meeting to determine when is the best time to call to be placed in queue for a specific agenda item.
As you know our financial situation is dire, and the lack of operating money could force an abrupt closure in the future, endangering ALL our programs. If that happened around 667 people currently housed by SSHH would be at risk of becoming homeless again.
